The UM1 ($215.00 to $385.00) can be used to
upgrade organs, to control lights or other devices from a computer,
or to create novel MIDI controlled instruments!

UM1 universal MIDI interface
The UM1 is an interface box with MIDI input and output, and 128 switch inputs/relay driver outputs (negative driving outputs). It can be used as a console MIDI encoder (generates MIDI codes from key presses) or as a MIDI decoder-driver (activates outputs according to MIDI messages received).
It can be used to upgrade organs, to control lights or other devices from a computer, or to create novel MIDI controlled instruments!
- 128 input/outputs (each of two 64 I/O group is programmable as input or output)
- Outputs are open collector solenoid drive at 0.250A, 25volts (can be TTL compatible)
- Output option -P provides solenoid drive at 0.500A, 25volts
- Outputs have built-in active clamps, but of limited capacity
- 1 pulsing output for solenoid driven "vibrato"
- Rotary switch to select MIDI channel
- Inputs are active low or high with built-in pull-ups/down, with switch debounce
- Fast MIDI interface allows up to 16 UM1 modules in series
- Windows 95/98 software for setup and diagnostics
- Compatible with standard MIDI keyboards and sequencer software
